Our client, a leader in sustainable agriculture, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Agronomist to join their team in Jacksonville, Florida, US . This critical role focuses on developing and implementing advanced agronomic strategies to optimize crop yields, improve soil health, and promote environmentally responsible farming practices. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural field, coupled with extensive field experience and a deep understanding of modern agricultural technologies and sustainable methodologies. This is an on-site position requiring dedicated presence in Jacksonville, Florida, US .

Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive field research and analysis to assess soil conditions, crop health, and environmental factors. Develop and implement innovative agronomic plans and recommendations for optimizing crop production, including fertilization, irrigation, pest management, and planting strategies. Advise growers and farm managers on best practices for sustainable agriculture, conservation tillage, crop rotation, and cover cropping. Evaluate and recommend the use of new agricultural technologies, equipment, and inputs to improve efficiency and sustainability. Monitor crop performance, disease outbreaks, and pest infestations, developing timely intervention strategies. Collect and analyze data related to crop yields, soil health indicators, and environmental impact. Stay current with advancements in agronomy, plant physiology, soil science, and sustainable farming techniques. Develop and deliver training materials and presentations to farm staff and stakeholders. Collaborate with research institutions, government agencies, and industry partners. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote responsible resource management. Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a closely related agricultural field. Minimum of 7 years of practical experience in agronomy, crop management, or agricultural research. Strong knowledge of soil fertility, plant nutrition, crop physiology, and pest/disease management. Demonstrated experience with sustainable agricultural practices and principles. Proficiency in using agricultural software, GIS tools, and data analysis techniques. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively advise diverse stakeholders. Must be able to work full-time onsite in Jacksonville, Florida, US , including occasional field work in various weather conditions. A Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification is highly desirable.
