Our client, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on Power Systems in Atlanta, Georgia. This vital role involves the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical systems for power generation, transmission, and distribution, with a particular emphasis on grid integration and stability for renewable energy sources. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical infrastructure, contributing to the company's mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in power system engineering principles, advanced simulation and modeling capabilities, and a proven track record of managing challenging projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, and project management, to deliver robust and innovative energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and analyze electrical power systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage). Perform power flow, short circuit, stability, and arc flash studies using industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD). Develop single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment specifications. Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and protection relays. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NERC) and regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues encountered during project development and operation. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Contribute to the development of grid interconnection studies and applications. Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance. Stay current with advancements in power system technology and grid integration strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree with a specialization in Power Systems is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on power systems design and analysis. Proficiency with power system simulation software is essential. Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems, protection and control schemes, and grid interconnection standards. Experience with renewable energy technologies and energy storage systems is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong plus. Experience with project management is beneficial.
