Our client, a renowned architectural firm committed to sustainable design and urban innovation, is seeking a Lead Architectural Designer for their vibrant Los Angeles, California, US office. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead design teams on significant projects, shaping the future of urban landscapes with a focus on environmental responsibility and community well-being. You will be instrumental in developing innovative architectural concepts, overseeing the design process from schematic design through construction documentation, and ensuring the highest standards of design excellence and sustainability are met. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of modern architectural theory, advanced design technologies, and sustainable building practices. You will collaborate closely with clients, engineers, urban planners, and construction professionals to bring ambitious projects to fruition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio showcasing impactful urban design projects, a proven ability to manage complex design challenges, and excellent leadership and communication skills. You will mentor junior designers and contribute to the firm's reputation for cutting-edge, sustainable architecture.

Responsibilities: Lead the architectural design process for major urban development projects, from conceptualization to final construction documents. Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that respond to site context, programmatic needs, and environmental considerations. Create compelling design presentations and visualizations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Oversee the work of design teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical direction. Collaborate effectively with engineers, consultants, urban planners, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure design integrity, constructability, and adherence to building codes and regulations. Manage project design schedules and budgets, coordinating with project managers. Stay abreast of advancements in architectural design, sustainable building technologies, and urban planning trends. Contribute to the firm's thought leadership in sustainable architecture and urban design. Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and design reviews. Qualifications: Master of Architecture degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in architectural design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior designer role. Demonstrated experience in leading design for large-scale urban development or complex mixed-use projects. Extensive knowledge of sustainable design principles, LEED certification, and relevant building performance metrics. Proficiency in advanced architectural design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and visualization tools (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion). Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methodologies. Exceptional conceptual thinking, creative problem-solving, and design communication skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate design teams. Excellent client management and presentation skills. Licensed Architect in the state of California (or ability to obtain reciprocity) is highly preferred. This role is based in our Los Angeles, California, US office.
