Head of Origination - (Energy Storage & Utility Scale Solar)

Vallum Associates has an exciting opportunity with a renewable energy developer with a strong presence on the West Coast. This company is actively engaged in energy projects across 12+ countries and is seeking a project developer to join their growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to build an expansive portfolio of commercial and utility scale energy assets.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in structuring, negotiating, and executing solar and storage power purchase agreements (PPAs) and energy procurement contracts. You'll understand project economics, development risks, and boast extensive relationships with various energy offtake parties, including investor-owned utilities (IOUs), coops, munis, and more.

Responsibilities:
• Monitoring key energy markets and reporting trends to leadership
• Cultivating relationships with utilities, municipalities, and energy offtakers
• Leading responses to energy offtake solicitations,
• Initiating, negotiating, and executing ppas and revenue contracts,
• Partnering with various teams for due diligence and project viability assessments
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to refine customer communication and raise awareness of company energy offerings.

Qualifications:
• 10 years’ proven experience in deal origination, energy trading, or related roles within North American energy markets
• Knowledge of ERCOT, PJM, and/or CAISO markets preferred
• Energy Storage and Utility Scale Solar Development experience is a must
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in energy procurement contracts and PPAs
• Understanding of regulated and deregulated energy markets
