Job Description

The Management Development Institute of Singapore is hiring a Program Manager for Safety & Environmental Management and/or Life Sciences. Responsibilities include academic leadership, managing programme operations, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, liaising with partners, and supporting student success. Programme Manager (Safety &
Environmental Management and/or Life Sciences)
Responsibilities

Provide academic leadership and oversight for programmes in Safety &
Environmental Management and/or Life Sciences and related disciplines.
Develop, review and maintain programme policies, procedures, curriculum and academic standards in alignment with institutional objectives and industry requirements.


Ensure programme compliance with accreditation requirements, regulatory frameworks and quality assurance standards.


Manage the academic and administrative operations of the programmes, including faculty, resources and facilities.


Liaise with university partners and overseas campuses on academic matters, programme development and student-related issues.


Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner universities, industry associations, professional bodies and industry partners.


Lead curriculum review initiatives to ensure programme relevance and continuous improvement, incorporating emerging industry trends, technologies and innovative teaching methodologies.


Provide academic guidance and support to students and faculty to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, industry engagement and student outcomes.


Serve as the key contact point for students, faculty members and external stakeholders relating to the programmes.


Support programme growth through collaboration with Sales &
Marketing and Student Admissions teams on promotional activities, recruitment initiatives and outreach events.
Manage programme budgets and resources effectively to achieve operational and strategic objectives.


Teach within the programmes for up to 50% of monthly working hours while supporting programme management responsibilities.


Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure effective problem-solving and service delivery.


Ensure all academic and student-related matters comply with prevailing regulatory requirements and organisational policies.


Support the Faculty Head in programme planning, delivery and successful commencement of academic intakes.


Perform any other duties assigned by Management.



Requirements

Master's Degree or higher in Safety &
Environmental Management, Occupational Health &Safety, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Proven academic teaching and lecturing experience at a recognised university or higher education institution is mandatory.


Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant academic, industry and/or programme management experience.


Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Safety &
Environmental Management and/or Life Sciences.
Experience in curriculum development, programme management, academic quality assurance and student development.


Preferably 7 or more years of leadership, academic management or industry experience with a credible portfolio.


Good working knowledge of prevailing regulatory requirements for Private Education Institutions (PEIs), including familiarity with CPE and EduTrust requirements.


Demonstrated success in programme development, strategic planning and budget management.


Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff.


Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.


Self-driven, proactive and hands-on, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.



Only candidates with proven university-level teaching and lecturing experience will be considered.
