Solar Technician

Vallum Associates is hiring a Solar Technician in Danbury, CT, for Operations & Maintenance of Commercial & Industrial solar PV projects. The role requires hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting inverters, and ensuring plant performance and compliance with standards. Key responsibilities include routine maintenance, performance monitoring, and fault analysis. The position offers a full-time schedule with a salary of $60K–$80K per year.
We are seeking a skilled Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Solar Technician for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar PV projects.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and strong proficiency in troubleshooting both Central and String Inverters.

The role involves ensuring maximum plant availability, performance, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance
• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of C&I solar PV plants
• Monitor plant performance and analyze generation data to identify faults and losses
• Conduct string-level checks, IV curve analysis, and thermography (if applicable)
• Ensure timely breakdown resolution to minimize downtime

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems (C&I scale)
• Proven expertise in Central and String Inverter troubleshooting
• Understanding of DC/AC systems, protection systems, and grid connectivity
• Experience with SCADA, data loggers, and plant monitoring tools
• Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and layout diagrams
