Gender: Any Candidate Nationality: Any Job Type: Full-time Role Context The International Relations Specialist - Climate will support the development and execution of international affairs initiatives linked to climate change, energy transition, diplomatic engagement, and global stakeholder cooperation. This position works across strategy, policy research, event planning, negotiations, advisory notes, international messaging, and partnership development. The role contributes to ADNOC Group's engagement with regional and international stakeholders while supporting UAE policy objectives, climate-related commitments, and strategic representation in global forums. Key Responsibilities * Support the creation and implementation of international affairs strategy related to climate change, energy transition, strategic relations, and global cooperation. * Assist in developing and maintaining international relationships with bilateral, multilateral, regional, and global stakeholders. * Support UAE international strategy on climate change, including engagement related to UNFCCC, United Nations platforms, and other international policy forums. * Lead and support international partnerships and cooperation with key government, institutional, industry, and strategic partners. * Support partnership and relationship management with the US administration and other important international counterparts. * Contribute to strategies for hosting international events, including climate-focused events and high-profile international platforms such as COP-related engagements. * Plan and implement UAE events that support policy objectives, international positioning, and strategic climate communications. * Support international negotiations on behalf of the UAE by preparing analysis, policy inputs, talking points, and strategic briefings. * Monitor developments in global climate change negotiations and provide timely updates to ADNOC management and government counterparts. * Develop technical and strategic position papers, presentations, advisory notes, briefing notes, and supporting materials for senior stakeholders. * Prepare regional and international inputs for policy briefs and position papers in collaboration with relevant internal practices and external stakeholders. * Address links between climate change, energy policy, sustainability, economic priorities, and related strategic concerns. * Support international communications and messaging to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with UAE and ADNOC priorities. * Assist in the development of UAE domestic targets and strategies by providing international policy insights and strategic recommendations. * Conduct policy research and prepare recommendations based on international trends, geopolitical developments, climate negotiations, and industry movements. * Support long-term business planning by identifying external developments that may affect energy policy, climate strategy, international relations, and corporate positioning. * Build and maintain productive relationships with consultants, external parties, industry partners, government stakeholders, and international organizations. * Coordinate with senior specialists, advisors, managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective execution of assigned international relations activities. * Contribute to corporate reporting, progress updates, management information, and internal briefings related to international affairs and climate strategy. * Support commercial negotiations, business partnership activities, and strategic stakeholder engagement where international cooperation or policy alignment is required. * Promote intercultural respect and effective communication across multinational relationships and global engagement settings. * Apply cultural, geopolitical, and industry awareness to strengthen company representation, stakeholder confidence, and advocacy outcomes. * Support partnership collaboration and management by tracking engagement priorities, action items, relationship objectives, and follow-up requirements. * Use AI-enabled research, reporting, and process optimization tools where appropriate to improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of international affairs work. * Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned activities to achieve functional objectives and ensure timely delivery of international relations outputs. * Train and support assigned staff on relevant international relations, policy research, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills. * Provide input for function, division, department, or section budgets and assist in implementing approved budgets and work plans. * Investigate and highlight significant budget or performance variances to support cost control and effective execution. * Implement approved policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards. * Contribute to approved performance objectives in line with the company performance framework. * Identify improvements in internal processes based on best industry standards and recommend practical solutions for better efficiency. * Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, sustainability guidelines, and ADNOC Code of Practices. * Provide inputs for MIS reports, progress reports, strategy updates, policy notes, and management briefings. Ideal Profile * Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Public Policy, Business, or an equivalent discipline. * Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic relations, international relations, climate policy, stakeholder management, or related advisory functions. * Strong knowledge of international climate change negotiations, multilateral engagement, bilateral cooperation, and global policy forums. * Experience supporting UNFCCC, United Nations, COP-related, government, or international stakeholder engagements will be an advantage. * Good understanding of UAE policy priorities, energy transition topics, sustainability matters, and international climate diplomacy. * Ability to develop strategic position papers, policy briefs, presentations, advisory notes, briefing materials, and executive-ready reports. * Strong background in stakeholder management, relationship management, strategic advocacy, and partnership collaboration. * Knowledge of geopolitical developments, industry trends, cultural considerations, international law compliance, and multinational business practices. * Experience supporting international communications, messaging, events, negotiations, and strategic engagement plans. * Ability to work with senior stakeholders, government counterparts, consultants, external partners, and internal leadership teams. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to track global developments, identify trends, assess implications, and recommend practical actions. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear materials for senior management and external engagement. * Ability to support strategy execution, performance monitoring, corporate reporting, and long-term planning activities. * Familiarity with AI-driven research, intelligent process optimization, and digital tools used for policy analysis or strategic reporting will be an advantage.
