After-Sales Service Engineer -Solar Energy Storage System

StarTimes Nigeria is seeking an After-Sales Service Engineer for Solar Energy Storage Systems in Lagos. Responsibilities include maintenance, repair, customer support, troubleshooting, and equipment inspections. Candidates should have a background in electronics or mechanics, electrical knowledge, and experience with solar equipment, particularly Solis inverters and Dyness batteries. Proficiency in IT and digital skills related to monitoring platforms is also required.
Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the after-sales maintenance and repair of solar energy systems to ensure normal equipment operation.

2. Respond promptly to customer repair service needs, providing technical support and solutions.

3. Troubleshoot and analyze equipment malfunctions, and repair various system faults.

4. Explain equipment usage methods and maintenance precautions to improve customer satisfaction.

5. Record maintenance and repair data and document it.

6. Participate in after-sales service process optimization, providing technical feedback and improvement suggestions.

7. Conduct equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.

Job Requirements:

1. Major in electronics, mechanics, automatic control, or related fields, with electrical knowledge and operational skills:

A. Electrical Knowledge

· High-voltage electricity knowledge: Proficient in the principles of direct current and alternating current, familiar with parameters such as voltage, current, power, and resistance. Understand household and commercial electricity regulations, comprehend signal transmission and communication protocols, and be able to handle monitoring and data transmission issues.

· Safe operation: Must master electrical safety operating procedures and be proficient in using multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, and other tools for measurement and diagnosis.

B. Structural, Waterproofing, and Roofing Operations Knowledge

Support Structure: Understand the installation methods for supports on different roofs (corrugated steel roofs, concrete roofs, tile roofs) and ground surfaces, and be able to determine the sturdiness and corrosion resistance of supports.

Waterproofing: This is crucial for rooftop power stations. Master the penetrating waterproofing process, be able to inspect and repair the waterproofing layer, and ensure no leaks.

C. IT and Digital Skills

Monitoring Platform Usage: Be familiar with the monitoring platforms of the brands (Majority Solis/Dyness), and be able to remotely make preliminary fault diagnoses through backend data.

Network Configuration: Be able to configure the Wi-Fi or 4G communication modules of inverters and handle common network connectivity issues.

Software Updates:Be able to perform firmware or software upgrades for inverters and monitoring equipment.

2. Prior experience in repairing solar or new energy equipment is preferred, especially Solis inverters and Dyness batteries.

3. Familiar with the structure and principles of solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, and other related equipment.
• System Composition: A deep understanding of the working principles and functions of each component of a solar power generation system (PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, combiner boxes, distribution cabinets, batteries (if any), monitoring systems, etc.).
• Fault Diagnosis: Ability to quickly and accurately diagnose common system faults, such as:
• Low Power Generation: Possible causes include module shading, dust, hot spot effects, line losses, and low inverter efficiency.
• System Malfunction/Shutdown: Possible causes include grid anomalies, inverter failure, leakage current protection, and DC switch tripping.
• Monitoring Malfunction: Possible causes include communication module failure, broken signal lines, and network configuration errors.
• Module (PV Panel) Repair: Ability to identify problems such as microcracks, hot spots, and PID effects in PV modules and to replace them.
• Inverter Repair: Ability to diagnose inverter fault codes and perform basic resets, module replacements, or complete unit replacements. Complex internal repairs typically require factory return, but engineers must possess accurate diagnostic skills.

4. Excellent communication skills and customer service awareness.

A. Strong Communication Skills

Listening and Explanation: Able to patiently listen to customer descriptions and complaints, and explain complex fault causes and repair solutions to non-technical customers in simple, easy-to-understand language.

Managing Expectations:Clearly inform customers of the required repair time and expected results to avoid misunderstandings.

B. Excellent Customer Service Awareness

Patience and Empathy: Understand the anxiety of customers experiencing system failures and always maintain politeness and professionalism.

Image and Standards: Wear uniform and name tag, behave appropriately, and uphold the company's brand image.

C. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities

Logical Thinking: Able to reason step-by-step based on fault symptoms and equipment data to pinpoint the root cause of the problem.

Hands-on Skills: Not only able to "diagnose," but also able to "handle" the problem, skillfully using various tools to complete disassembly, installation, and wiring.

D. Time Management and Stress Management

Able to rationally plan inspection and repair routes to complete tasks efficiently.

Able to remain calm and operate according to procedures under pressure from customers and complex faults.

5. Able to adapt to business trips and on-site work environments.

6. Preference will be given to candidates holding relevant professional qualification certificates.
