Job Description

Smart4 Energy is seeking a Group Procurement Manager to lead procurement for renewable energy projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. This role, based in Cape Town, requires a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of procurement experience, including leadership. The manager will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with project schedules while driving cost optimization. The position offers a salary of R1.5mil to R1.6mil, excluding bonuses.

to join their Cape Town head office. Reporting directly to the
Head of Construction
, you will lead the procurement function across a growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout
Sub-Saharan Africa
.


This is a strategic leadership role offering the opportunity to influence procurement strategy, supplier partnerships, commercial negotiations, and supply chain performance across multiple large-scale projects.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance
7+ years experience in procurement
2 – 5 years in a leadership role
Renewable energy industry experience

Salary:
R1.5mil to R1.6mil excludes performance bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and execute the group's procurement strategy across utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Lead sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management activities.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers.
Partner closely with Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure procurement aligns with project delivery schedules.
Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality, compliance, and delivery performance.
Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
