We're looking for a talented and motivated Environmental Consultant/Conservation Tech to join our team and make a difference in our client's business.
Job Description:
As a Conservation Agronomist you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Your primary responsibility will be working closely with agricultural producers, specifically in feedlot operations, to implement management practices that align with their local, state and federal permits. Additionally, you will be responsible for helping clients implement various NRCS programs, including EQIP (Environmental Quality Incentives Program) and CSP (Conservation Stewardship Program).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support for feedlot environmental compliance, ensuring feedlot operators meet necessary environmental regulations and standards.
Work directly with producers to provide technical expertise on conservation strategies and practices that meet NRCS standards.
Support farmers in applying for and utilizing NRCS financial assistance programs, including EQIP and CSP, to fund conservation efforts.
Assist landowners and agricultural producers in the design and implementation of conservation practices aimed at improving soil health, water quality, and overall environmental sustainability.
Collaborate with other environmental and agricultural professionals to ensure project success and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay current with changes in NRCS programs and environmental compliance regulations from the Iowa DNR, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
Required:
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A passion for helping people, farmers and agriculture.
Preferred:
Associate's or greater degree in Agronomy, Business, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Prior experience in conservation, agronomy or a related field, with a strong preference for experience working with NRCS programs such as EQIP and CSP.
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to agricultural operations, specifically for feedlots and livestock operations.
Proven ability to interact with farmers and landowners to provide technical advice and guidance.
Strong understanding of conservation practices, soil and water management, and land stewardship.
Familiarity with GIS and other relevant software tools.
Seeking motivated individuals. Experience in the field is prioritized, but not necessary.
