Lead Solar Technician - Utility-Scale (117MW)

We're hiring a Lead Technician to oversee day-to-day operations at a 117MW utility-scale solar facility. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive performance, safety, and reliability while guiding onsite technicians and working closely with the Area Manager.

What You'll Do:

Provide onsite leadership and direction for safe, reliable plant operations

Maximize plant performance, uptime, and efficiency

Lead and support technicians in preventative and corrective maintenance

Plan and execute daily work activities, outages, and maintenance schedules

Ensure full compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards

Conduct safety meetings, audits, and incident reviews



Troubleshoot and maintain:

Inverters, combiner systems, and tracker systems

PV panels and associated components

Pad-mount transformers and medium/high-voltage equipment

Read and interpret electrical schematics to diagnose issues

Track all maintenance activities in CMMS systems

Support warranty claims, inventory control, and spare parts management

Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts

Assist with site transition from construction to full operations (if applicable)

Travel occasionally to support other sites, training, or special projects



What We're Looking For:

3+ years of experience in electrical operations & maintenance (power generation preferred)

Solar or renewable energy experience is a strong plus

Ability to lead, prioritize, and execute in a fast-paced environment

Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical systems

Comfortable working with low, medium, and high voltage systems

Proficient in reading electrical prints and schematics

Experience with CMMS platforms and reporting tools

Valid driver's license and ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round

Must reside within 60 miles / ~60 minutes of the site



Preferred Experience:



Utility-scale solar or power plant operations

Prior leadership or crew supervision experience

Journeyman or Master Electrician license

High-voltage switching and testing experience
