The role involves coordinating with various teams, managing consultants, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Position Details
The Senior Permitting & Environmental Manager supports the advancement of data center development projects by coordinating permitting and environmental workstreams. This role partners closely with Development, Engineering and other Land Stewardship SMEs to meet regulatory requirements and maintain schedule. This position is primarily responsible for executing defined scopes of work, managing consultants, and tracking permitting progress across assigned projects. The role contributes to permitting strategy while supporting overall project delivery under the direction of project and functional leadership. This role also includes supporting permitting efforts associated with on-site or adjacent gas-fired generation, including air permitting and regulatory coordination related to emissions. This role also supports Savion’s commitment to responsible land stewardship by ensuring environmental considerations are incorporated early and consistently throughout project development.
Responsibilities
Support permitting and environmental efforts across a portfolio of data center projectsAssist in identifying required permits and approvals, including zoning, land use, environmental, construction, and air permits (as applicable to on-site generation)Coordinate preparation and submission of permit applications and supporting documentationTrack permit status, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsSupport air permitting processes for gas-fired generation, including emissions calculations and permit applications (e.g., minor source, synthetic minor,Title V)Coordinate with engineering, consultants, and regulatory agencies on Clean Air Act requirementsManage day-to-day coordination with consultants and support budget trackingMaintain detailed trackers and identify risks or delaysJob Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related field5+ years (Manager) or 7+ years (Senior Manager) of experienceFamiliarity with land use, environmental regulations, and permitting processesPreferred:
Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, energy, or data center projectsExperience supporting air permitting and compliance for gas-fired generation or other emissions sourcesFamiliarity with multi-jurisdictional permitting environmentsCompensation & Benefits
