Take lead in industry and academic outreach to understand latest science and technology. Work with our innovation and ventures team to help vet new technologies and/or services that support Schreiber Foods. Create strategies and curriculum to help train and educate Schreiber partners on dairy/food chemistry and product science to improve overall competency. Support Innovation and Product Development groups by providing technical expertise and support on key projects as necessary. You can even see Lambeau Field from our top floor. ** What you'll do: *** Responsible for coaching, leading, and mentoring R&D partners and developing the talent pipeline. * Contributes to and establishes plans that have short, mid, and long-term impact on the R&D Department and Schreiber Foods: + Leads the implementation of strategies as set forth by the organization ensuring alignment with business objectives. + Accountable for R&D results on significant medium and large sized projects * Communicates cross functionally within the organization and with stakeholders in industry, academia, suppliers, and customers + Develop cross functional relationships with leaders and groups in Product Strategies, Marketing/Insights, Sales, Sourcing, and Operations to understand needs and provide effective support and solutions. Work collaboratively with the Product Development Director to identify needs and provide resources and support for projects as necessary. + Requires proficient management and leadership acumen to spearhead complex, cross functional project teams to drive initiatives across multiple departments, product lines, and job family groups. + Works to drive influence and consensus among diverse groups, advocating for the vision and strategic initiatives of the department and company. + Communicates complex concepts to executive leadership on matters of critical importance to the organization + Negotiates and resolves challenges that arise in projects and cross functional work + Actively participate in industry trade associations and professional organizations, such as the National Cheese Institute (NCI), Food Research Institute (FRI), American Dairy Science Association (ADSA), and Institute of Food Technologists (IFT).
