Job Description

Sheakley is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for a 6-month contract in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role involves overseeing EHS initiatives in a manufacturing facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting inspections, and delivering safety training. Candidates should have 5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing. The position offers a pay rate of $55/hr, with opportunities for full-time conversion.

📍 Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

📅 Duration: 6 Months (Immediate Need)

📋 Type: 1099 Contractor with Opportunity for Full-Time Conversion

Compensation & Schedule

💰 Pay Rate: $55/hr (Local)

🏨 Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week)

🎯 Completion Bonus: $150/month

💵 Pay Frequency: Weekly

⏰ Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | 40 Hours Per Week

Required Qualifications

✔ 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

✔ Food and beverage manufacturing EHS experience required

⭐ OSHA 1910 expertise

⭐ Experience supporting food production or processing facilities

⭐ Experience with environmental compliance programs and reporting

⭐ CSP, ASP, CHST, or other BCSP credential

⭐ Experience working within corporate EHS management systems

What You'll Be Doing



Oversee daily environmental, health, and safety activities within the manufacturing facilityEnsure compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS requirementsConduct facility inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsLead incident investigations and corrective action implementationManage EHS documentation, reports, and compliance recordsSupport environmental compliance programs and reporting requirementsDeliver employee safety training and awareness initiativesPartner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to proactively identify and mitigate hazardsMonitor safety performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiativesSupport corporate and regional EHS objectives and programsPromote a positive safety culture throughout the facility

The ideal candidate is a proactive EHS leader who can effectively partner with operations and leadership teams, maintain regulatory compliance, identify and mitigate risks before incidents occur, and strengthen both safety and environmental performance across the facility.

Success in this role will be measured through regulatory compliance, reduced incident rates, improved employee engagement, effective program implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's EHS culture.
