Job Description
Spark Power is seeking a Renewable Energy Technician in Rosamond, CA, to work on utility-scale solar farms. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and completing safety documentation. Candidates should have a high school diploma, preferably with electrical/mechanical training, and a state-certified Journeyman license. The role requires teamwork, digital literacy, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Renewable Energy Technician to join our growing team in Rosamond, CA.
Our Renewable Energy Technician will assist in working on utility-scale solar farms that consist of dealing with preventive & corrective maintenances, troubleshooting, and performing electrical repairs. We deliver technical solutions that help our customers transition to the grid of the future – Renewable Energy.
What you’ll be doing as a Renewable Energy Technician
Working on a multitude of solar/battery systems.Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on utility-scale Solar and BESS systems. Implement firmware updatesModule ReplacementExecute Hot/Cold CommissioningTroubleshoot system issues and perform electrical/mechanical repairsSafely perform battery charge/discharge cyclesFollow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplaceComplete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.Energization/de-energization proceduresFollow & implement LOTO plans & proceduresInterpret schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprintsComplete quality assurance inspections to identify deficiencies and corrective actionsFollow OEM specific maintenance requirements in addition to company standards and industry best practices i.e. NETA MTS, CSA Z463, etc.Daily digital reporting and documentation of all work performedWork in a team-based environment and independently whereas necessaryParticipation in on-call weekend services on a rotating scheduleIdentify and provide feedback to issues and ongoing development of projectsWilling to work overtime as needed

High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in electrical/mechanical fields is an asset)State certified Journeyman license - preferredSMA PCS Preventive & Corrective Maintenance certification - an assetExperience with Powin batteries is a plusKnowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)Must be able to lift 75lbPositive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learnDigital literacy (proficiency with mobile apps and various software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Report writing)Electrical & mechanical aptitude and experienceAttention to detailAbility to work with a team mentality and liaise with customers to ensure quality of serviceWork in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperaturesFirm commitment to safetyValid Driver's License and clean driving recordAbility to complete a drug test and background check if made an offer of employmentAbility to travel throughout the US
