Manager: Environmental Management Services

Digby Wells Environmental seeks a Manager for Environmental Management Services in Johannesburg. This senior role involves leading complex Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects, driving business development, managing a team, and ensuring client satisfaction. Candidates should have extensive experience in environmental consulting, strong leadership skills, and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management. The position is focused on delivering impactful solutions in the resources and infrastructure sectors.

What you’ll do:




Lead large, multi-country Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) programmes within the resources and infrastructure sectors.

Oversee delivery of complex, integrated environmental and social projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Drive business development by building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and securing new work.

Own and grow a pipeline of work, contributing to revenue targets and service line strategy.

Lead and develop a team of environmental project managers and specialists across multiple regions.

Act as a key account manager and trusted advisor to clients.

Manage departmental performance, financials, and resource planning.




Requirements

What we’re looking for:




Proven track record in managing large, complex ESIA and environmental projects

Strong experience in winning work and growing client relationships within a consulting environment

Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including senior professionals

Solid understanding of environmental legislation and international standards

Strong commercial acumen, including project financial management

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills


Qualifications and Experience:




Postgraduate degree in Environmental Management or related field

8+ years’ experience in environmental consulting

Proven experience managing international projects

Professional registration (EAPASA or equivalent preferred)
