Job Description
Digby Wells Environmental is seeking a Manager for Environmental Management Services in Gauteng, South Africa. This senior leadership role involves leading multi-country Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects, driving business development, managing a team, and ensuring project quality and compliance. Candidates should have extensive experience in environmental consulting, project management, and client relationship building. A postgraduate degree and over 8 years of relevant experience are required.
This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and grow a key service line, lead complex international projects, and drive business success across our global footprint.
What you’ll do:
? Lead large, multi-country Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) programmes within the resources and infrastructure sectors.
? Oversee delivery of complex, integrated environmental and social projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
? Drive business development by building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and securing new work.
? Own and grow a pipeline of work, contributing to revenue targets and service line strategy.
? Lead and develop a team of environmental project managers and specialists across multiple regions.
? Act as a key account manager and trusted advisor to clients.
? Manage departmental performance, financials, and resource planning.

What we’re looking for:
? Proven track record in managing large, complex ESIA and environmental projects
? Strong experience in winning work and growing client relationships within a consulting environment
? Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including senior professionals
? Solid understanding of environmental legislation and international standards
? Strong commercial acumen, including project financial management
? Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills
Qualifications and Experience:
? Postgraduate degree in Environmental Management or related field
? 8+ years’ experience in environmental consulting
? Proven experience managing international projects
? Professional registration (EAPASA or equivalent preferred)
