GIS Technical Manager

National Grid Renewables seeks a GIS Technical Manager in Bloomington, MN. The role involves developing GIS methodologies, managing data transfers, improving geoprocessing tasks, and assisting with cloud data management. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in GIS or IT, 5+ years of experience, and extensive knowledge of ESRI products. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments are essential. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Do:
• Evolve methodology and develop a framework to provide GIS technical support
• Develop technical strategies to create efficient workflows between multiple departments
• Manage data transfer between GIS and land management software
• Improve geoprocessing tasks by creating automation scripts
• Assist in cloud data management
• Assist in managing GIS Portal and Web Mapping platforms

What You’ll Need:
• Bachelors in GIS or IT related field
• 5+ years working experience in a technical GIS/IT role
• Extensive knowledge of ESRI products
• Functional experience with programming and application development
• Practical experience developing web based GIS solutions
• Experience in development and implementation of GIS software (ESRI)
• Extensive experience with ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro
• Experience with large scale data integration projects
• Ability to work across departments and with team members from different professional backgrounds
• Excellent communication skills (listening, speaking, and writing)
• Works well in team environment
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stress in a fast-paced environment
