General Production Worker (Night Shift)

Huhtamaki is seeking a General Production Worker for the night shift in Batavia, OH. The role involves inspecting and packing products, ensuring quality and safety, and adhering to safety protocols. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively. The position requires physical stamina and involves lifting and prolonged standing. This is not a remote job.

Job Summary

Inspects and packs components (bottoms, sidewalls or covers) and completed product into shipping cases. Ensures accurate counts, correct product labeling, and safe loading of product onto shipping pallets.

Essential Functions

Observe all Huhtamaki safety rules and use safe working methods and procedures at all times to avoid injury, injuryto co-workers, or damage to company property. Perform job requirements safely, within specified or shortest time possible, at lowest cost and with minimum waste. Pack product into cases insuring accurate quantity and quality. Erect cartons and make labels.Clear jams using safe work procedures.Inspect product throughout packing process; recognize product quality issues and reports to Supervisor or Team Leader.Interpret Shop packet details and instructions.Provide relief for other Production Packers.Operate Material handling equipment.Apply SPC procedures.Provide Machine Operator and/or Team Leader data for periodic maintenance work.Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs. Provide plant housekeeping support.

Requires basic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalentThe ability to read, understand and comprehend written or oral instruction and the ability to communicate effectively with others. Requires near/far acuity and color vision.Must be able to work with little supervision.

Employee works in a manufacturing environment.Individual will work a set schedule including regular weekend work.Requires prolonged standing (90%) with occasional walking (10%).Requires twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling.Incumbent will lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis and lift/carry more than 40 lbs. occasionally.Requires reaching at, above and below shoulder level.
