Placements24 is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for an on-site role in Las Vegas, NV. The position involves developing and managing EHS programs, conducting site assessments, and promoting safety culture. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, 3-5 years of EHS experience, and knowledge of OSHA regulations. Responsibilities include training, incident investigation, and compliance management to ensure a safe work environment.
Our client is looking for a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their team in Las Vegas, Nevada, US . This on-site position is critical for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across all company operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS regulations, best practices, and experience in implementing and managing safety programs. You will be responsible for conducting site assessments, developing safety training, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses; determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Develop and deliver effective safety training programs for all employees. Maintain all required EHS records and documentation, including incident reports, training logs, and permits. Manage hazardous waste disposal programs and ensure environmental compliance. Collaborate with management and employees to foster a proactive safety culture. Stay current with EHS legislation, industry trends, and best practices. Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans. Monitor key EHS metrics and prepare reports for management review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a related industry. In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant EHS regulations. Experience with safety management systems and risk assessment techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are a plus. Willingness to perform site visits and work in various operational environments.
