Position Summary
The Account Executive plays a crucial role in driving growth for IHI Terrasun's energy storage control software and data analytics platforms, with ambitions of becoming a frontrunner in the Energy Software and Services Market. This role will serve as the main point of contact for Developers, Owners, and EPCs, using an established industry network to identify, nurture, and close complex B2B opportunities centered around energy storage and solar project controls.
The ideal candidate will excel in a small organization, emphasizing relationship building, cross-functional collaboration, and the creation of sustainable processes alongside pipeline development. Working with our VP of Commercial & Product Management and Senior Manager of Applications Engineering & Commercial Solutions, you will translate strategies into tangible results, leveraging our successes in controls, data analytics, and integrated battery storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Sales Operations, Design Engineering, and Executive Leadership to develop and implement go-to-market plans for utility-scale battery storage and solar projects.Partner with Product Management to synthesize competitive insights and inform product strategies.Utilize an existing network within energy storage and power systems to identify qualified opportunities and drive revenue growth.Coordinate and manage opportunities internally across cross-functional teams.Act as a trusted representative of IHI Terrasun through regular interactions with customers and partners.Develop new accounts through targeted outreach and relationship-focused selling.Lead technical and commercial presentations, product demos, and training on our offerings.Leverage AI tools to enhance prospecting, customer insights, and sales effectiveness.Represent IHI Terrasun at industry conferences and customer events.Apply value-based selling principles to differentiate our services from competitors.Manage long, complex B2B sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.Create clear narratives, proposals, and communications for customer engagements.Provide regular updates on pipeline and opportunities to senior leadership via structured reporting.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Minimum of 10+ years in technical or software-based sales.Proven ability to sell software-driven solutions for complex systems.Strong understanding of controls and data analytics software for solar operations.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across various stakeholders.Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance efficiency and deal quality.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to balance independence with teamwork in a matrixed environment.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in technical or software sales.Established relationships in the energy storage or solar + storage industries.Experience coordinating opportunities across engineering and finance teams.Proficiency in Microsoft tools and CRM systems.Strong organizational skills and effective time management.Compensation:
This is a salaried, exempt position eligible for commission-based compensation. The base salary ranges from $170,000 to $220,000, with target compensation of $185,000 to $330,000 based on experience. Commission structure includes MBOs and sales incentives.
