Trainee Site Technician

Goldwind is seeking a Trainee Site Technician in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The role involves hands-on support in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of wind turbines. Responsibilities include assisting in assembly, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating with engineers and project managers. This is a contractor position with no specific degree requirement.
Description: A Trainee Site Technician is a hands-on technical graduate who supports the building and commissioning of wind turbines and related infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities Installation Support


Assist with assembling turbine components (tower sections, nacelles, blades). Ensure mechanical and electrical systems are installed correctly. Quality & Safety


Conduct inspections to verify compliance with engineering standards. Enforce health and safety protocols on-site. Testing & Commissioning


Help with electrical testing, cabling, and grid connection. Support turbine commissioning and troubleshooting.


Maintenance
Preparation
Document installation processes for future servicing. Train or hand over knowledge to operations teams. Coordination


Work closely with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors. Report progress and issues to site supervisors.
