Position Overview

We are seeking a Residential Energy Advisor (or someone looking to become one) to join our team. In this role, you will conduct energy evaluations, provide guidance on energy-efficient upgrades, and support builders in meeting BC Building Step Code energy efficiency requirements. This position requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with clients and industry professionals. Training and equipment can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform residential energy assessments using diagnostic tools and software
• Provide recommendations for energy efficiency improvements
• Assist builders and contractors in achieving BC Energy Step Code compliance
• Analyze data and prepare reports
• Communicate findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, professional manner
• Travel throughout the Okanagan Valley for on-site evaluations (mileage compensated)
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience in building construction, building science, or energy efficiency (preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to understand and interpret complex building systems
• Basic math skills required for calculations and energy modeling
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
