Job Description
Edf Renewables is seeking a Renewable Energy Intern in Toronto, ON, to support project development and permitting in Western Canada. Responsibilities include competitive analysis, preparing materials, conducting First Nation research, and budget tracking. This internship aims to provide university students with experience in renewable energy development while offering administrative support to the team. The position requires 90% in-office work, with minimal off-site meetings.
Scope of Position
Support project development and permitting activities in Western Canada.Competitive analysis and support EDFRs ambition to be more competitive, tracking consultations in Alberta and BC.Preparing materials and presentations.First Nation research and material preparations.Budget tracking, PowerBI, and potential support with research in policy/regulations for Alberta and British Columbia.
Responsibilities

Goals of Internship:
• Provide experience for university student to learn the ropes of renewable energy development
• Acquire services of a resource for minimal cost, able to provide entry level tasks and administrative support for the development team to offload some tasks enabling our team to focus more on delivering megawatts for the organization
• Provides another viewpoint to our organization and development team - perhaps creating value that would not otherwise have been created.
Skills to acquire during internship:
• Be part of helping shape policy for how renewables will integrate into western markets.
• Learn research skills, engage with First Nations, work across wind, solar and energy storage technologies.
• Prepare to build some pipeline in BC and possibly Manitoba for wind, storage, and solar.

• Planning, business, geography, policy, communications/marketing, engineering, renewables, sustainable development
Working Conditions:
• 90% time in office, utilizing computers. Up to 10% potential to participate in some off-site team meetings or public project meetings.
