Project Manager - Environmental Remediation

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager for Federal environmental remediation projects. The role involves overseeing project teams, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing staff feedback. Candidates should have a BA/BS in Geology or Engineering with at least 4 years of experience. The position is hybrid, requiring an average of 3 days a week in the office located in Providence, Rhode Island.
About the position

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to oversee Federal environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Providence, Rhode Island AECOM office on a hybrid basis. (On average 3 days a week in office, flexible arrangement). Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:\nFamiliar with project invoicing and cash flow management\nManages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects\nLeads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices\nUtilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems\nInterprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance\nAnalyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking\nPerforms work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager\nOversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies\nPerforms complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team\nSupervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work\nConducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement

BA/BS in Geology, Engineering, or related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationMust be able to pass a background checkCandidate must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.Nice-to-haves

Professional License (PE, PG)10+ years’ experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project managementMaster’s degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or related degreeExperience with regulator and stakeholder negotiationsExperience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy)Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLADetail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skillsExperience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project deliverySuperior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiencesExperience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change ordersInterest in business developmentHave led teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projectsOccasional overnight travel requiredBenefits
