Youngstown State University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty member for Environmental Science, primarily responsible for instructing undergraduate courses, delivering lectures, conducting labs, and grading. The position is mainly in-person at the YSU campus in Youngstown, Ohio, but some remote work may be assigned as needed. Candidates must hold a master's degree in environmental science or a related field with relevant coursework.

Part-time faculty are pooled positions; appointments are made on an as-needed/rolling basis.

Summary of Position

This position includes instructing undergraduate courses and fostering an engaging learning environment. Key duties include delivering lectures, conducting labs/fieldwork, grading, and holding office hours. Position is predominantly in person, though some remote work may be assigned on an as needed basis.

Position Information

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments will be at YSU Campus, Youngstown, Ohio.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Minimum Qualifications: At least master's degree in environmental science, or a master's degree in another field plus at least 18 graduate credit hours in environmental science. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree in environmental science. Academic background featuring multiple physical-science laboratory courses and a minimum of two semesters of introductory environmental science courses and labs.
