Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solar Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in Indianapolis, Indiana, US. This role is crucial for the successful planning, design, and execution of utility-scale solar energy projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering aspects from conception through completion, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and company objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and engineering of solar PV power plants, including site layout, electrical schematics, and component selection. Perform detailed energy production modeling and performance analysis. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for engineering tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project development, construction, and operations to ensure seamless project integration. Conduct feasibility studies and technical due diligence for potential solar projects. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements. Prepare technical specifications, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and clients. Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in solar energy. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the design and construction phases. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in solar energy project engineering, with a strong focus on utility-scale projects. Proven experience in AC/DC electrical design, power systems, and grid interconnection. Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope) and AutoCAD. Excellent understanding of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and regulatory landscapes. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
