Placements24 is seeking a Senior Energy Systems Engineer in Indianapolis, IN, responsible for designing and optimizing energy systems for industrial and commercial use. The role involves energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy integration, and ensuring reliable energy operations. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, at least 6 years of experience, and skills in energy modeling software. The position is full-time and requires strong analytical and project management abilities.
Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Energy Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Indianapolis, Indiana, US . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and optimization of complex energy systems for industrial and commercial applications. You will be instrumental in driving energy efficiency initiatives, exploring renewable energy integration, and ensuring the reliable and cost-effective operation of energy infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, electrical power systems, and energy management principles.

Responsibilities include:
Designing and analyzing energy systems, including power generation, distribution, and utilization. Evaluating and implementing energy efficiency measures and technologies. Assessing the feasibility and integration of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, geothermal) into existing systems. Conducting energy audits and developing strategies for optimization and cost reduction. Managing projects related to energy system upgrades, installations, and maintenance. Developing predictive models for energy consumption and system performance. Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and energy standards. Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues within energy systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to achieve project goals. Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in energy systems engineering. Expertise in energy modeling software (e.g., HAP, eQUEST, EnergyPlus) and a strong understanding of building energy codes and standards are essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are required. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. Proven ability to lead complex projects and communicate technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders is expected.
