Our client, a leader in innovative agricultural solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Agronomist to join their team in Los Angeles, California, US . This critical role will focus on developing and implementing sustainable farming practices to enhance crop yields, improve soil health, and minimize environmental impact. You will work closely with farmers, researchers, and other stakeholders to provide expert advice and practical guidance. The ideal candidate possesses a strong scientific background in agronomy, extensive field experience, and a passion for sustainable agriculture.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for various crops, focusing on sustainable and efficient practices. Conduct soil testing and analysis to assess nutrient levels, pH, and overall soil health. Recommend appropriate fertilization, irrigation, pest, and disease management strategies. Evaluate new agricultural technologies, products, and techniques for potential adoption. Provide technical guidance and training to farmers and farm managers on best agronomic practices. Monitor crop development and field conditions, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions. Collect and analyze data related to crop performance, soil health, and environmental impact. Research and advocate for the adoption of water conservation techniques and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. Collaborate with research institutions and government agencies on agricultural initiatives. Prepare reports and presentations on agronomic findings and recommendations. Stay updated on the latest advancements in agronomy, soil science, and sustainable agriculture. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote stewardship of natural resources. Assist in the development and implementation of precision agriculture programs. Promote biodiversity and ecosystem health within agricultural landscapes. Act as a subject matter expert for the company's agronomic initiatives. Required Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in agronomy, agricultural research, or crop consulting. Deep understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and crop nutrition. Proven experience with sustainable and organic farming principles. Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation related to agricultural systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Experience with GIS and precision agriculture technologies is a strong asset. Knowledge of local crop types and agricultural challenges in the California region is preferred. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various farm locations. A passion for improving agricultural sustainability and food security. Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach. Ability to interpret and apply scientific research to real-world farming situations.
