Beacon Lighting Commercial is seeking a Residential Lighting Designer for a full-time maternity leave contract in Mulgrave, Victoria. The role involves assisting clients with lighting solutions for new homes, overseeing the design process, and ensuring customer satisfaction. With the latest industry knowledge and experience to facilitate a huge variety of commercial and residential projects, at Beacon Lighting Commercial we work closely with our customers to achieve on-trend, energy-efficient and affordable lighting solutions.
• The Role

Based within our partner builder's offices, our Lighting Designers connect directly with the builder's customers, to understand their needs and suggest lighting and electrical solutions that will enhance their home. This role will oversee the end-to-end process including pre-planning, consultation, finalising lighting and electrical layouts, and completing the order.

Key responsibilities include :
• Reading and understanding architectural and electrical plans
• Creating lighting design plans that reflect the customer's needs and design concepts
• Selecting and specifying product and placement solutions that fit the customer brief whilst providing a professional, knowledgeable, and efficient service
• Assisting in seeking opportunities that grow the consultation service
• Ensuring all administrative requirements are followed through, attending to phone enquiries, reporting on consultations and safety procedures, and completing all relevant paperwork
• About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes :
• Strong customer service and sales skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate
• Experience or knowledge in interior / lighting design and the ability to read and interpret house plans
• An energetic and enthusiastic approach to all aspects of your job
• A strong attention to detail, using systems competently, preparing quotes and orders
• The ability to work in a team environment and support the team towards a common goal
• A positive and willing approach
