JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing a team that leads and supports the development and management of current and future renewable energy programs, including the Simple Solar program, Community Solar program, REDI C&I program, CRSP program, CARES Utility Scale Subscription, CARES DG Subscription, CARES CIR, Income Qualified Community Solar, and Flex REC programs.
The Renewables Program Manager will manage existing programs in all aspects including program design, ensuring accurate accounting, billing, and participation, assisting and communicating with participants, required Regulatory filings, and implementation of new programs. The role is also responsible for translating business requests from management and other stakeholders into reporting deliverables for the organization such as: management summaries, detailed reports, and program impact projections of renewable programs. The position works with diverse teams across departments within GPC to accomplish objectives. The Renewables Program Manager will also be responsible for working closely with partner organizations, supporting renewable customer strategies, and communicating to customers and stakeholders regarding renewable energy programs. The role partners closely with leadership within Customer Solutions and across Renewable Development, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Legal, Technology, and external stakeholders to advance renewable strategy, deliver new programs, and continuously improve program operations.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES .
Leads and oversees a portfolio of renewable energy programs ensuring consistent execution, compliance, and performance
Provides direction, prioritization, and guidance to Program Managers on the team responsible for individual programs
Accountable for supporting program design, implementation, enhancements, and ongoing operations across multiple renewable offerings
Serves as the primary escalation point for complex program, customer, regulatory, or stakeholder issues
Ensures accurate participation tracking, billing, accounting, and financial integrity across programs
Oversees preparation, review, and submission of regulatory filings, reports, and data requests
Applies and interprets utility rates, tariffs, contractual language, and program requirements across programs
Partners closely with Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Customer Solutions to deliver program outcomes
Translates leadership priorities and business questions into clear reporting, analysis, and actionable insights
Oversees the development of management summaries, dashboards, forecasts, and program impact projections
Identifies risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and drives solutions across programs and processes
Leads coordination across cross functional teams to support new program launches and enhancements
Supports customer and stakeholder communications related to renewable programs
Represents renewable programs in leadership discussions and select internal or external forums
Coaches and mentors Program Managers to support consistent program ownership and professional growth
Drives continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methodologies used to manage and report on programs
Demonstrates strong judgment, accountability, and decision making in a regulated environment
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or technical field preferred; MBA a plus
Prior experience in utility, renewable energy, or customer programs preferred, including regulatory support, rates and pricing, financial or economic analysis, customer solutions, power delivery, or energy programs
Demonstrated experience leading a team through complex programs and providing direction to other professionals
Advanced experience using data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong program leadership skills with the ability to guide multiple Program Managers and initiatives simultaneously
Ability to think strategically while also driving operational execution
Strong understanding of utility rates, marginal cost concepts, and regulatory frameworks
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights for leadership
Ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities in a regulated environment
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
