The position also includes responsibilities for inventory optimization, raw material forecasting, supply chain optimization, and monitoring supplier KPI’s while ensuring purchasing strategies align with company objectives and long-term business goals.ResponsibilitiesPromote work safety and adhere to established safety proceduresComply and oversee Quality Management Systems (ISO) for purchasing and supplier monitoringLead, train, and develop purchasing agents to build a high-performing teamIdentify and secure the best possible prices for goods and servicesNegotiate contracts and payment terms according to Limits of AuthorityMonitor supplier performance for delivery, quality, and serviceCollaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) and suppliers to enhance performance by addressing quality and delivery concernsMaintain records in accordance with Quality Management System and other purchasing requirementsDevelop accurate raw material purchase forecasts using historical data, sales projections, and production schedulesAlign purchasing strategies with company objectives, strategic initiatives, and financial goalsLead initiatives that improve supply chain reliability, resilience, and efficiencyDevelop and maintain optimal inventory levels using EOQ, safety stock, and demand forecastingOversee purchases of production materials, supplies, and scrap for recycling operationsSupport accounting with discrepancy resolution and chargeback documentationPartner with Scheduling, Manufacturing, and Sales to align forecast models with production requirementsReduce slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory while ensuring availabilityOther duties as assigned by managementEducationBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or 7 years of progressive purchasing experienceExperienceAPICS certification with scheduling experience is preferred, in addition to a purchasing backgroundPrevious management experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical abilities and decision-making skills to conduct price comparisons and evaluate vendor proposalsThorough understanding of procurement best practices, purchasing, and/or supply chain managementSkilled in negotiation and building professional networksSolid knowledge of integrated ERP softwareAbility to multitask and prioritize effectivelyExcellent organizational skillsUnderstanding of Quality Management SystemsMicrosoft Office SuiteEssential FunctionsRegular and Reliable AttendanceStandingSittingWalkingLifting/Carrying up to 30 poundsReading #J-18808-Ljbffr
