## Managing Technical Consultant, Environmental Permitting / Due Diligence Project Manager — Seattle, WA

You will be part of ERM's Capital Project Delivery (CPD) service line, driving environmental permitting and due diligence for major capital projects. In this role you will influence high-level decisions, collaborate with global experts, and deliver solutions that balance innovation with environmental stewardship. Typical work involves leading permitting and approvals, identifying permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence, and managing regulatory agency interactions.

What we expect you to bring:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, biology/ecology, planning, program management, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.

- 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and/or due diligence.

- Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and lead multidisciplinary teams.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and presenting to clients.

- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.

We also prefer candidates who have experience with permitting timelines, risk identification, and mitigation strategies. Technical skills in wildlife or ecological surveys (e.g., wetland delineations, wildlife assessments) are listed as preferred, as is familiarity with air quality permitting and multi-media regulatory compliance programs.

What you'll do day-to-day:

You will lead environmental risk evaluations, permitting, and approvals for technology infrastructure and major capital projects. Tasks include identifying permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence processes; managing regulatory agency interactions and developing mitigation strategies for environmental risks; collaborating with architecture and engineering partners on conceptual master planning; and communicating environmental requirements to diverse stakeholders including legal, real estate, design, and sustainability teams.

You will oversee preparation of reports, permitting documents, and environmental reviews at federal and state levels, and serve as project manager, technical expert, and QA/QC reviewer to ensure quality and compliance. Driving business development through proposal preparation and client relationship management is part of the role, as is monitoring project performance, budgets, schedules, and health & safety protocols. You will work across ERM’s global network to share best practices and deliver exceptional results.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Environmental Permitting / Due Diligence Project Manager position, the anticipated annual base pay is $93,050 – $124,245 USD. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
