Eagle Redi-Mix Concrete, LLC is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for its Tulsa, OK division. The role involves executing safety and environmental programs, conducting audits, managing DOT compliance, and administering drug and alcohol programs. The position requires regular travel between plant locations and supports long-term growth in safety leadership. The salary range is $60,000 – $65,000, with a company truck provided after 30 days.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist


Location: Northeast Oklahoma - Tulsa Division
Travel: Regular travel between plant locations; occasional travel to Oklahoma City and Northwest Arkansas
Reports To: Director of Safety (policy & compliance), Division Manager (day-to-day operations)
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000; Company truck (after 30-day review)

As our operations continue to grow, we’re looking for a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team and help strengthen our safety program across all locations.


Position Summary


The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for executing and improving safety and environmental programs across the Tulsa division. This role requires a self-motivated, proactive individual who can operate independently, identify gaps, and drive improvements without constant supervision.


This position will play a key role in stabilizing safety performance while also supporting environmental compliance efforts, including stormwater management and regulatory coordination. The role is designed as a developmental position with long-term growth into safety and environmental leadership.


Key Responsibilities:


Safety Program Execution



Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all plant locations
Identify hazards and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
Maintain and manage SDS binders at each plant location

Driver & DOT Compliance



Manage and maintain DOT driver qualification files
Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, including driver eligibility and documentation
Utilize Samba Safety to monitor driver MVRs, manage the database, and take action on driver-related issues
Assist with driver onboarding, compliance tracking, and corrective actions

Drug & Alcohol Program Management



Administer and manage the company’s drug and alcohol testing program
Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT and company policies
Coordinate testing, track results, and manage follow-up actions

Training & Development



Conduct monthly safety meetings at each plant location for all drivers
Track weekly safety talks and proactively follow up with plant personnel to ensure completion
Deliver safety training for new hires and existing employees
Serve as a Smith System certified driver trainer
Reinforce safe work practices with drivers and plant personnel

Incident Management & OSHA Compliance



Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses
Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
Own OSHA recordkeeping, including maintaining OSHA logs and reporting recordable injuries
Track and report safety metrics and trends to leadership

Environmental Compliance



Assist in maintaining compliance with state and federal environmental regulations
Support and maintain Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) for plant locations
Conduct routine site inspections related to stormwater and environmental compliance
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, including the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), as needed
Maintain required environmental documentation and records
Work with internal personnel and leadership to address environmental issues and corrective actions

Insurance & Claims Coordination



Work with insurance carriers and representatives on claims and safety-related matters
Assist in managing claims documentation and providing support during claim investigations
Support efforts to reduce claim frequency and severity

Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with other EHS team members across divisions to align safety efforts
Partner with operations leadership to improve safety culture and accountability
Communicate safety expectations clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization

Qualifications:


Required



Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field
OSHA 30 Certification
Working knowledge of DOT regulations, including driver qualification files
Experience with MVR monitoring systems (Samba Safety preferred)
1–3 years of safety experience, preferably in construction, ready-mix, or similar industry
Ability to travel regularly between plant locations
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Preferred



Experience with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
Familiarity with environmental regulations and regulatory agencies (DEQ experience a plus)
Experience in ready-mix concrete, construction, or heavy industrial environments
Experience working with insurance carriers and claims management

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
