GE Vernova is seeking a Wind Farm Field Service Technician for the Silverton Wind Farm in Oregon. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should be qualified electricians or mechanics with strong fault-finding skills. The position requires physical stamina and may involve travel to other sites. It operates on a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday.
Job Description Summary

You'll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you'll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia's wind power turning.

This role is a 9:00am - 5:00pm schedule Mon - Fri. To provide GE Supervision to contractors.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure

Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections

Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required

Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding

Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries

Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly

Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections

Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems

Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed

Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies

Qualified Electrician or a qualified Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter with electrical aptitude

Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)

Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

A current unrestricted driver's license

Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you'll be climbing turbines, so you've got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)

A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions

Independent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasks

Open to travel to other sites as required
