Levert is currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Lab Technician to support a high-volume assay laboratory at a leading mining operation in the Canadian Arctic.


This role is lab-based and assay-focused, supporting gold analysis through sample preparation and fire assay workflows. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining sample integrity, QA/QC standards, and safe laboratory operations in a remote camp environment.

About the Role

As a Lab Technician 1, you will support the assay laboratory by performing routine sample preparation and analytical support tasks, while strictly following safety, quality, and procedural requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Perform daily sample preparation activities in an assay lab environmentCrush, pulverize, split, and screen geological and mill samplesReceive, label, log, and track samples to maintain full traceabilityAccurately weigh samples according to laboratory proceduresConduct screen tests and support prep workflows for gold analysisAssist with fire assay preparation and high-temperature processesMaintain strict adherence to QA/QC and chain-of-custody requirementsWear required PPE at all times, including a half-mask respirator when requiredMaintain clean, organized, and safe lab work areasParticipate in safety meetings and follow all site safety protocols
What You Need to Succeed

Geology Technician diploma or certificate (or equivalent experience)Minimum 1 year of experience in sample preparation (crushing, pulverizing, receiving samples, screen testing, etc.)Fire assay experience is a strong assetCompletion of Levert training modules and client’s online testingValid Class 5 driver’s licenseStrong awareness of safety procedures and lab best practicesAbility to work effectively as part of a teamCultural awareness and experience working in the Canadian Arctic is an assetStrong English communication skills (oral and written)Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and WordSuccessful completion of the SPEEXX English language assessment
