Job Description
FTTDC - Ohio Logistics is hiring a Forklift Operator for their Bowling Green, OH location. The role involves using powered forklifts to move materials, load/unload trailers, inspect shipments, and maintain safety standards. Candidates should have good communication skills, basic math abilities, and experience with RF equipment. The job requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting, standing for long periods, and working in a warehouse environment.
Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator uses powered industrial forklifts to move materials throughout the distribution center and place product in designated areas. Forklift Operators primary function is load/unload trailers per customer specification and put product away in the warehouse. Inspection of inventory on in-bound and out-bound shipments is essential.
Reports To: Tier 3 Lead Forklift Operator/Sr. Supervisor
Primary Responsibilities:
Communicate with co-workers and coordinate to receive instructions and coordinate activities
Operate forklift equipment
Ability to stack and store inventory in appropriate areas
Ability to pick mixed pallets
Utilize our scanner process and RF scanners
Audit paperwork – ensure packing list matches what was received
Occasional case pick – manual labor
Checking loads for damage
Stay aware of possible hazards
Maintaining forklift equipment – proper inspections, etc.
Load optimization
Preparing pallets for shipment – may need to band them, wrap them, etc.
Adhere to safety standards
Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
Other duties may be assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
Possess above average communication skills
Basic math and counting skills
Be a self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience with RF equipment
High School Diploma or GED
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and/or work environment described here are representative of those that must be met or will be encountered by the employee while performing the essential functions of this job.
Minor lifting to 40 lbs.
Standing for long periods of time.
Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling.
Work Environment:
The working conditions of this position reflect those of a standard warehouse environment to include:
Working in close proximity to others
Working with heavy machinery and products
Moderate to high noise levels
Tasks may require both indoor and outdoor work assignments
May be subject to hot and cold temperatures inside the warehouse depending upon outside weather conditions
Occasional manual labor
Must be non-allergic to the extent of being present in the building through the work day.
