Job Description
Lander University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Chemistry for a position starting August 2026. Candidates must have a PhD in Environmental Chemistry or a related field and demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching. The role involves teaching undergraduate classes and has a nine-month contract with a normal teaching load of 15 contact hours each semester. There is potential for the position to become permanent or tenure-track after the first year.

Applications are invited for a visiting position in Environmental Chemistry to begin August 2026.
PhD in Environmental Chemistry or related field required.
A strong commitment to excellent teaching is essential. Ability to teach undergraduate chemistry and environmental science classes for both majors and non-majors, including lectures and laboratories, required.
Preference will be given to candidates providing evidence of a record of excellent teaching.
After the first year, there is a possibility that this position may convert into either a permanent teaching position, or into a tenure-track line.
Contract period is nine months.
Normal teaching load is 15 contact hours each semester.
Salary determined by experience.
