Job Description

W&M Environmental Group seeks a Traveling Field Testing Technician for renewable energy projects in Kansas City, KS. The role involves performing inspections and testing of construction materials, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Candidates need a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 75 pounds. This position offers career advancement opportunities but is not remote, as it requires travel throughout the Central United States.
Braun Intertec is seeking Field Technicians to join our team. This is a traveling position working on wind, solar farms, and other renewable energy projects.



Braun Intertec is searching for individuals who are looking for a traveling position and are dependable and flexible. This individual should have strong initiative and self-motivation and be able to perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. Work will primarily be located throughout the Central Unites States. However, travel to the greater United States may be required.



Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with Braun Intertec project personnel, technicians, clients, and contractor representatives regarding project requirements, testing needs, and results. Technicians will also perform testing using a variety of test methods, prepare and submit testing and observation reports. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and be able to regularly lift 75 pounds.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine to complex sampling, observations, and testing including, but not limited to, soil resistivity, pile observations, and pile load testingOccasionally perform anchor testing, load testing, concrete coring, floor flatness testing, infiltration testing, pavement FWD, pavement GPR, high and low frequency GPR, and slab moisture testingTroubleshoot and adjust testing to meet site conditions and project needsPrepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic formatWork with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed

All candidates must have:

A high school diploma or equivalentA valid driver's license and clean driving record for the last 3 yearsThe ability to lift 75+ poundsComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditionsWillingness to work long hours and weekends as requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTechnical expertise in electronic field data collectionHigh attention to detail

The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent plan reading skillsExperience driving a pickup truck or other large vehiclesMechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical,materials emphasis, or relatedPossess EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 monthsDemonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude for test equipment and electronics.2+ years of experience in construction or mechanical related fieldA strong safety focus and attention to detail

Compensation Range:

$50,000.00 - $74,000.00
