Structural Designer

Insight Global is seeking a Structural Designer in Abbotsford, BC, to focus on sustainable architecture and energy modeling for high-performance buildings. Responsibilities include developing designs, performing energy simulations, collaborating with teams, and supporting LEED certifications. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in sustainable design, proficiency in Revit/BIM, and knowledge of energy modeling tools. The position offers a salary range of CA$95K–CA$110K and is full-time.
We are looking for a Sustainable Architect / Energy Modeling Specialist to support the design and optimization of high-performance, energy-efficient buildings. This role focuses on integrating bioclimatic design strategies and energy simulations into architectural projects. Day-to-Day


Develop architectural designs with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency


Perform energy modeling and simulation (EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, DesignBuilder, etc.)


Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to optimize building performance


Conduct site analysis and climate-responsive design strategies


Support LEED / green building certifications and documentation


Use Revit / BIM tools to integrate energy analysis into design workflows


Review and ensure compliance with building codes and sustainability standards Must-Haves


5+ years of experience in architecture or sustainable design


Strong experience with Revit / BIM


Experience with energy modeling tools (EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, DesignBuilder, etc.)


Knowledge of LEED or green building standards


Understanding of building codes and energy efficiency principles


Strong collaboration and communication skills Nice-to-Haves


Licensed Architect (OAA/AIBC or similar)


Experience with Green Building Studio or similar tools


Background in bioclimatic/passive design
