Sr Civil Engineer - Renewable Energy & High Voltage Infrastructure

Bradsby Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for Renewable Energy & High Voltage Infrastructure, based in Centennial, CO. Candidates must possess a PE license and have experience with utility-scale renewable projects. Responsibilities include civil engineering design for solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems, as well as high voltage substations. The position offers a salary of $120-$165K with limited travel and hybrid remote options.

Title: Senior Civil Engineer – Renewable Energy & High Voltage Infrastructure
Compensation: $120-$165,000 + benefits


Location: Remote (Hybrid options if wanted in certain offices)


Travel: Limited travel depending on project needs


Reports to: Director of Engineering


Role and Responsibilities:



Renewable Energy Projects (Solar, Wind, BESS)



Lead civil engineering design for utility-scale renewable energy projects including solar PV, wind farms, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Perform site feasibility studies, grading design, stormwater management, and erosion control plans.
Design equipment foundations for inverters, transformers, BESS containers, and wind turbine foundations.
Develop access roads, crane pads, laydown areas, and site logistics plans.
Coordinate geotechnical investigations and incorporate findings into structural and civil designs.
Support permitting documentation and environmental compliance requirements.
Provide construction support including RFI review and site inspections.



High Voltage Infrastructure (Substations & Transmission Lines)



Support civil and structural design of high voltage substations (AIS/GIS).
Design equipment foundations, control buildings, retaining walls, oil containment systems, and cable trenches.
Develop grading plans and drainage systems for substations.
Support transmission line projects including foundation design (drilled piers, spread footings, micropiles), access roads, and site restoration.
Coordinate closely with electrical and structural engineers to ensure integrated project design.
Ensure compliance with utility standards and applicable engineering codes.



Requirements:



Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
5+ years of experience supporting renewable energy and/or high voltage infrastructure projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage systems.
Experience with high voltage substations (69kV–500kV) and/or transmission line civil design.
Technical experience with site grading, earthwork design, stormwater management, hydrology calculations, and structural foundation design.
Experience with civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar tools.
Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and utility design requirements.
Experience working with EPC contractors, utilities, or energy developers is highly preferred.
