Amazon is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Sustainability to lead carbon reduction and sustainable technology initiatives across operations in the AMET region. The role involves developing strategies, guiding teams on emissions reduction, and engaging with public-private partnerships. Candidates should have experience in sustainability projects, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. The position can be based in various locations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.
DescriptionAmazon is looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive carbon reduction and sustainable technology deployment across our operations, as part of our Africa, Middle East and Trkiye (AMET) Sustainability team. This role can be based in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Trkiye or South Africa.You will develop and implement a plan alongside local and global operations leaders and partner teams to deliver strong year-on-year progress toward Amazons commitments set out in the Climate Pledge.The ideal candidate has experience working with zero/low-carbon technologies and a proven track record of leading successful sustainability projects, and/or relevant experience in logistics, last mile, fulfilment or FMCG operations. Familiarity with the AMET region, vendor management and delivering change in organizations are an advantage.Additionally, this candidate has the ability to think strategically, navigate complex and ambiguous challenges, manage large-scale projects across different technologies and stakeholder groups, and collaborate and influence effectively. Strong written and verbal communications skills, an eagerness to learn and develop, and flexibility to work with multiple teams in different locations are essential.Key job responsibilities Develop and execute plans to drive technology deployment and improvement in operational metrics toward short- and long-term sustainability goals. Guide operational teams on how to reduce emissions, plan their budgets, and secure resources for decarbonization. Develop and implement investments in zero/low-technologies in the AMET region. Engage in public-private partnerships and industry coalitions to unlock innovative solutions. Partner with Public Policy teams to identify key policy opportunities to accelerate zero/low-carbon technology adoption Drive broad engagement among leaders and Amazon colleagues at all levels to influence decision-making and daily behaviors toward sustainability goals.About The TeamAmazon AMET (Africa, Middle East and Trkiye) Operations is a diverse, inclusive team delighting customers by delivering global selection with the best locally relevant experience.
