Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer in Dubai, UAE, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement control measures related to air quality, waste management, and water protection. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, maintaining permits, preparing reports, and leading audits. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering and at least 7 years of experience, including 3 years in the UAE, with experience in microtunneling projects.

Job Description
Ensure full compliance with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Dubai Municipality / RTA / MOCCAE regulations, and project specifications.
Implement and monitor environmental control measures related to air quality, noise, vibration, waste management, water protection, and soil contamination.
Obtain and maintain required environmental permits, approvals, and NOCs.
Conduct regular site environmental inspections and audits to verify compliance.
Monitor dust levels, noise levels, vibration, groundwater protection, and spill control measures.
Prepare and submit environmental monitoring reports, compliance reports, and authority submissions.
Maintain environmental records, registers, and corrective action logs.
Review and approve method statements and risk assessments from an environmental perspective.
Ensure proper implementation of erosion control, sediment control, dewatering management, slurry disposal (micro-tunneling), and hazardous material handling.
Monitor impacts from activities such as excavation, piling, tunneling, asphalt works, and concrete works.
Establish and control waste segregation, recycling, disposal tracking, and approved landfill usage.
Monitor chemical storage, fuel storage, spill prevention, and emergency response readiness.
Promote efficient use of water, energy, and materials on site.
Maintain environmental permits, inspection checklists, NCRs, corrective action reports, and training records.
Lead internal and external environmental audits with clients, consultants, and authorities.
Close non-conformities and ensure continuous improvement.
Implement sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and eco-friendly materials.
Identify environmental risks and implement mitigation measures.
Ensure environmental KPIs are achieved and reported.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent disciplineMinimum 7 years of professional experience in environmental engineering or environmental management, with at least 3 years of substantive experience within the United Arab EmiratesDemonstrable experience in microtunnelling projects is essentialDubai Municipality (DM) approval or equivalent regulatory certification is mandatoryProven track record on major infrastructure projects in Dubai or Abu Dhabi is requiredAdvanced knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) frameworksComprehensive expertise in UAE environmental regulations and compliance requirements
