Job Description

The Environmental Engineer position at a Confidential Company in Sharjah, UAE, involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, monitoring emissions and waste, preparing reports, and supporting sustainability initiatives. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Sustainability Engineering, with 6-10 years of experience in relevant roles. Responsibilities include analyzing processes for efficiency, managing waste programs, and conducting audits.
Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations, permits, and company policiesMonitor air emissions, wastewater, waste disposal, and chemical handlingPrepare environmental reports, permits, and documentation for audits and authoritiesSupport implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Environmental Management SystemMonitor and report on energy consumption, emissions water usage, and waste generationSupport carbon footprint calculations and sustainability initiativesIdentify opportunities to reduce emissions, energy usage, and environmental impactContribute to ESG reporting and environmental performance trackingAnalyze manufacturing processes to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and conserve waterSupport implementation of sustainable materials and cleaner production technologiesEvaluate environmental impact of new processes, products, and equipmentAssist in life cycle assessments (LCA) and material flow analysisSupport waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous)Monitor wastewater treatment and ensure discharge complianceAssist in managing air emission control systemsDrive initiatives to reduce waste and improve recycling ratesConduct internal environmental audits and support external inspectionsMaintain accurate environmental records and reportsInvestigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Sustainability Engineering.6 years to 10 years of experience in environmental engineering, sustainability, or HSE roles within manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environments.Strong understanding of environmental regulations, compliance, and industrial environmental controls.Knowledge of carbon footprint calculation, energy management, and sustainability reporting.Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and audit processes.Experience in waste management, wastewater treatment, air emissions monitoring, and chemical handling.Ability to analyze process data and recommend engineering solutions.
