Job Description
The University of Oxford seeks a Research Associate in Computational Methods for Climate and Child Health. This role involves leading research linking climate science with child health, in collaboration with various global organizations. The position is primarily onsite in Oxford but allows for remote and flexible working. Candidates will contribute to a program aimed at safeguarding children's wellbeing amidst climate challenges.
Research Associate in Computational Methods for Climate and Child Health The Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford, is currently looking for one outstanding candidate to fill a role of a Research Associate in Computational Methods for Climate and Child Health.
The post-holder will be based in the Department of Computer Science at Oxford and a core member of the newly established Oxford Martin School Programme on Climate and Child Health.
Reporting directly to Professor Seth Flaxman (Department of Computer Science) and Dr Neil Hart (School of Geography and the Environment), and collaborating closely with Professor Lucie Cluver (Department of Social Policy and Intervention) you will help lead an ongoing multiyear programme of methodological research linking climate science directly with child health and wellbeing.
The programme is a partnership between the Oxford Martin School and Oxford Global Health, working with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, the World Food Programme and the World Meteorological Organization, alongside humanitarian agencies across Africa.
Together they are generating evidence on how climate shocks affect children, identifying practical ways to strengthen resilience, and informing disaster planning and early warning systems.
By combining research and practice, the Oxford Martin Programme on Climate and Child Health aims to safeguard children's wellbeing and strengthen their futures in a changing climate.
