BC Green Pharmaceuticals Inc / Castle Rock Farms Inc is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic for their cannabis cultivation facility in Princeton, BC. The role involves maintaining and operating HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance, troubleshooting climate control issues, and promoting a safe work environment. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in refrigeration, preferably in controlled environments, and must hold relevant certifications.

To support our expansive growth, we are excited to welcome a Refrigeration Mechanic to our team. Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Refrigeration Mechanic will be required to perform various tasks within all areas of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Mechanical, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Refrigeration systems, Heat Recovery systems, LAN room cooling systems, hydronic systems, and other related equipment.

• Work to ensure the most efficient and optimal performance of Refrigeration systems, minimize equipment downtime, maintain and extend equipment service life while ensuring safe operation of systems at all times.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair climate control failures that could impact plant health and yield.

• Perform regular inspections of refrigeration units, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), and heat exchangers.

• Maintenance of HVAC fan coils, dehumidification, and cleaning coils.

• Engage with equipment vendors for technical support to resolve equipment issues and for warranty support.

• Promote and ensure a safe work environment with strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols.

• Follow Company rules and policies regarding employee conduct and respect.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Ideally a 3-5 year minimum of experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration, with preference for experience in controlled environment agriculture, food processing, or pharmaceutical production.

• Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic in British Columbia - Red Seal Certification (Refrigeration Mechanic – 313A) is an asset; an equivalent combination of education, knowledge and experience will be considered.

• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cannabis cultivation and processing is considered an asset.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing climate control issues.

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.

• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

• Must be a team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work within a high-security environment.

• Valid BC Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements:

• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.

• Comfortable working in a high-humidity, temperature-sensitive facility with strict environmental controls.

• Must be able to comfortably access rooftops.

Salary: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00/annually
