Carbon Mapper, Inc. is seeking a People Operations Intern to assist with the migration of employee data from Gusto to ADP in Cambridge, VT. People Operations Intern (HRIS Migration Support)About Carbon MapperCarbon Mapper is a non-profit organization based in Pasadena, CA with the mission to drive greenhouse gas emission reductions by making methane and carbon dioxide data accessible and actionable. We leverage remote sensing technology to detect, pinpoint, and quantify methane and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions at the scale of individual facilities. All our methane and CO2 data is made publicly available for non-commercial use on our Carbon Mapper Data Portal to provide decision-makers with the information they need to prioritize and take mitigation action. Carbon Mapper also works with stakeholders and decision makers to fill data gaps, lead on cutting edge science, collaborate to drive reductions, and advance education and insights on emissions globally. To do this, we work with partners to leverage a constellation of satellites. Data from these satellites will offer the next major step in scaling up the organization's robust data portal featuring thousands of direct observations of global methane and CO2 super-emitters. To learn more about Carbon Mapper, please visit us at view our data, please visit us at The RoleThe People Operations Intern will support the Human Resources Manager in the migration of employee data and processes from Gusto to ADP. This role offers hands-on experience with HR systems, data management, and process improvement in a growing organization. The Intern will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the migration process while gaining exposure to core HR operations. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in People Operations and HR systems. The role will involve handling confidential employee data and requires a high level of integrity and attention to detail. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHRIS Data Migration & ValidationAssist in extracting, organizing, and preparing employee data from Gusto for migrationSupport data entry, uploads, and system configuration within ADPValidate data accuracy across systems, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in collaboration with the HR ManagerConduct audits to ensure completeness and consistency of employee records Operational SupportAssist with employee record updates, onboarding data entry, and general HR administrative tasksSupport testing of workflows and system functionality in ADPRespond to internal inquiries related to HR data, as appropriate Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with the Human Resource Manager, Payroll and IT teams to support migration milestonesParticipate in project check-ins and provide status updates on assigned tasks Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Must-Have Skills & Experience: Current undergraduate or graduate student in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Excel (e.g., sorting, filtering, basic formulas) Strong written and verbal communication skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Interest in HR systems, people operations, or HR analytics Experience working with spreadsheets or databases Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Workday) Exposure to data cleaning and auditing LocationCarbon Mapper is headquartered in Pasadena, California, but we embrace the virtual office and are continuing to grow our team across the United States.
