Job Description
The Center for International Environmental Law is seeking applicants for its General Interest Application talent pool. Candidates may be considered for future roles based on their skills and experience. The position allows for remote work from certain non-US countries, provided legal work authorization is obtained. CIEL offers a flexible schedule with core hours for meetings and operates primarily in English. No specific degree is required.
Thanks for your interest in CIEL! If you are interested in joining our talent pool for consideration in a future role, please submit your resume and answer the application questions here. Please note that there is no timeline or deadline for this talent pool. When a new position opens, we will reach out if your skills and experience match what we are looking for at that time and ask if you are interested in applying to that particular role. Please do not follow up on this submission of interest with a phone call or email.
CIEL may be able to hire people in the following locations:
In our Geneva, Switzerland office provided you have the ability to legally work in Switzerland (i.e., a citizen of EU/EFTA member states)
In our Washington, DC office or elsewhere in the United States (some jurisdictions excluded) provided you have the ability to legally work in the US.
Remotely from a non-US country, depending on the country and provided you can work within South/North American and African/European time zones AND have obtained your own legal work authorization. Due to restrictions, not all countries or states will be eligible for remote hiring.
Please note that CIEL cannot sponsor work visas, and thus you must be eligible to legally work in the country from which you wish to work. For those who work near the Washington DC or Geneva Switzerland offices, we generally offer the flexibility to be hybrid (i.e. working from home some days), subject to specific job needs.
CIEL offers a flexible schedule, provided core times are observed for meetings. Core hours are generally 6am - 9am US PT / 9am - 12pm US ET / 3pm - 6pm CET but may vary depending on the specific job needs.
Please note that while we do work in various languages, our core language is English. Thus, please submit all materials (CV/Resume, short answer questions, and work sample) in English.
