Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an O&M Field Tech II for solar field operations in Mechanicsville, VA. The role involves independently performing maintenance and repairs on solar equipment, ensuring site safety, and logging maintenance activities. Candidates should have 2+ years of solar experience, a high school diploma, and knowledge of electrical systems. Physical work outdoors is required, with compensation ranging from $26 to $35 per hour.

Position Summary
The O&M Field Technician 2 performs field-level activities required to operate and maintain a solar or BESS site and can do so independently. This position includes repairs on inverters, trackers, Bess units, communications equipment, and general site upkeep. Field technicians are required to have a working knowledge on operating solar equipment and performing preventative maintenance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair inverters, trackers, and other systems essential to health site operation.Perform routine testing and repair of AC and DC electrical circuits for maximum site production.Ensure site safety and security.Have in depth knowledge of potential electrical hazards and use proper LOTO procedures to safe guard work space before repairs or maintenance is performed.Log and record all maintenance activities performed into a computerized maintenance management system, HEIS 2.0.Accurately report and relay information to site lead and other supervision in a clear and concise manner.Adhere to all site safety requirements including LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.Perform site security and visual inspections of vegetation, facilities, water ways and roads.Monitor repairs performed by contractors and provide detailed breakdowns of work performed.Advanced knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and control devices installed in power facilities.Perform all solar and/or Bess site activities not listed above.
Education And/or Experience Requirements
Required: Able to operate a computer to interact with onsite equipment and proficient in Microsoft Office suiteAdvanced level of electronic principles knowledge to perform detailed troubleshooting.Electrical testing equipment knowledge (multimeter, IV Curve Tracer, TTR, insulation resistance etc.)Proficient in repairing and maintaining tracker systems, inverters, and weather stations.2+ years solar experience (O&M and commissioning experienced preferred.)Valid driver’s license and good driving record to operate company vehicles.A high school diploma or GED is required.Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programsPreferred:Proficient in SCADA system monitoring and applications used to operate power generation facilities.General knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70e, LOTO, and First Aid training.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Required: Ability to mostly work in an outside environmentLifting items greater than 35 poundsWalking on uneven ground and navigating rough terrain.Ability to handle temperature extremes.Able to wear and safely utilize all PPE required to perform tasks.
COMPENSATION: $26.00 - $35.00 / hr
