Job Description
SRI Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Mender for its Mebane, NC facility. The role involves repairing linen products, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a clean work area. Candidates should have strong decision-making and communication skills, and will mentor others after mastering tasks. The position requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and involves no supervisory responsibilities. The work environment is fast-paced and climate-controlled.

Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Mender, at our Mebane, NC Healthcare Laundry facility. We are looking for someone who is confident in decision making, can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. The successful candidate:
• Perform tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Separate, fold, and properly distribute clean linen.
• Inspect clean linen to ensure all quality standards have been met.
• Pouch and label sterile product utilizing the heat sealing machine.
• Send finished packs to Sterilizer Operator for further processing.
• Work within established productivity and quality standards.
• Make recommendations to facility management for methods of improvement.
• Mentor and train fellow associates after mastery of tasks.
• Ability to read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Keep work station neat and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities & Duties
• Efficiently perform repairs on linen products as needed and returning repaired items for functional use.
• Track all repair activities via manual or computer records.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Maintain repair supplies at an acceptable level.
• Complete Barrier/Suture testing.
• Other projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a fast-paced indoor area with little exposure to dust; moderate exposure to machinery noise; climate-controlled environment; and controlled access.
EXPERIENCE:
One to two years of previous experience in sewing and mending applications preferred.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of standard sewing practices.
• Ability to determine items suitable for repair and items to be discarded.
• Ability to operate sewing machine, heat seal machine, suture tester and any other related equipment with adequate instruction.
• Basic analytical skills and detail-orientation.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers as appropriate.
• Ability to read and understand applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
